Auditions

Due to limited spots in the ensemble this semester, auditions will be open to TENORS, BARITONES and BASSES only.

We welcome auditions from ALL GENDERS, as long as you are vocally comfortable performing with the ensemble as a tenor, baritone or bass.

First round auditions will take place on Thursday September 8th in Room 2020 in the U-M SMTD Moore Building.

What will you need for the audition form and first round?

A brief artistic resume detailing recent vocal and general performance experience.
A clear headshot or other picture.
A 60-second cut from a jazz or jazz-related song. You will sing this unaccompanied.
A fun attitude! We are so excited to hear YOUR voice and see what YOU bring to the audition!

Callbacks will take place on Monday September 12th in Room 1370 in the U-M SMTD Moore Building.

Singers receiving a callback will be contacted via email by end of day Friday September 9th.

What will you need for the callback?

A contrasting 60-second cut from a jazz or jazz-related piece. The auditions panel will give you an idea of the type of thing they want to hear in your callback email. You will sing this accompanied, so bring sheet music or a lead sheet for our pianist to play from.
The appropriate voice part of the Touch of Blue arrangement sent to you via email.
An open mind! We will split off into sections, and will sing solo over the ensemble during the group portion of the callback.
